Less CO2 emissions thanks to new photovoltaic system at Hermes in Poland
In addition to the installation of a new biomass plant at the Austrian production site beginning of this year, a further step was taken towards achieving the Hermes‘ environmental, energy and sustainability goals with the commissioning of a new photovoltaic plant at the production site in Poland.
A state-of-the-art photovoltaic system with an annual capacity of 50 thousand kWh was installed in Gadki and has already been started up successfully. The electricity generated is used to reduce the plant's demand from conventional energy sources, thus significantly reducing CO2 emissions.
For Hermes, this is another milestone on the way towards a sustainable production of its abrasives portfolio in line with the company's strategy and an important component in achieving the goals set as part of the "SEAM" certification by the European Abrasives Manufacturers Association.
