Hermes Schleifmittel – Successfully restructured and focused on the future

We are pleased to announce important developments that will strengthen our company in the long term and lay the foundation for a stable future. The restructuring of Hermes Schleifmittel has been completed. A regional group of investors from Carinthia has taken over the company, and the closing has been successfully completed. This new stability and financial basis lays the foundation for future-proof corporate development.

Christopher Opetnik is responsible for operational management. He is supported by the new ownership structure, which ensures regional anchoring, entrepreneurial continuity and strategic clarity.

Strengthening production, development and technical expertise
As part of the reorganisation, production and development will be consistently bundled in Austria in future. Austria will also become the new company headquarters and will take over:

• all research and development facilities
• the entire grain production from the German sites
• experienced Hermes experts from Germany, who will continue their work in Austria in future, thus securing valuable technical know-how

Hermes continues to invest specifically in technology, automation and delivery performance in order to sustainably expand product quality and service.
The course has also been set internationally. The two sites in Canada and the USA have been successfully transferred to Walter Surface Technologies. Supply to customers there remains fully guaranteed. More information
